1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Travelpayy platform at www.travelpayy.com (the "Platform"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including senders, travelers, and visitors.
2. Platform Description
Travelpayy is a connection platform only. We connect individuals who wish to send parcels with travelers heading to the same destination. Travelpayy does not itself ship, carry, inspect, or take possession of any package at any time.
The Platform facilitates the discovery of routes, the communication between senders and travelers, the management of delivery agreements, and the processing of payments via an escrow wallet system. All actual delivery arrangements are made directly between users.
Travelpayy is not a courier company, shipping company, or logistics provider and does not assume the role of any such entity.
3. Eligibility
To use Travelpayy, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Nigerian law.
- Not be prohibited from using the Platform under any applicable law.
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful registration information.
By registering, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements. Accounts found to be created by or for individuals under 18 will be immediately suspended.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and login credentials.
- All activities that occur under your account.
- Immediately notifying us at support@travelpayy.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may not create multiple accounts, impersonate another person, or use a fictitious identity. One user, one account.
5. Sender Responsibilities
As a sender, you agree to:
- Accurately describe the contents, weight, dimensions, and declared value of your package before posting a delivery request.
- Ensure the package contains only legal items that comply with Nigerian law and these Terms.
- Agree on delivery terms with the traveler — including price, packaging requirements, handover method, and timeline — before confirming the delivery.
- Fund your wallet with sufficient balance to cover the agreed delivery fee before the traveler departs.
- Confirm receipt of your package through the Platform once it has been delivered. Funds will not be released to the traveler until confirmation is received.
- Not misrepresent the nature, content, or value of the package to the traveler or to Travelpayy.
6. Traveler Responsibilities
As a traveler, you agree to:
- Only accept delivery requests for packages you have physically inspected and confirmed match the sender's description before departure.
- Deliver the package to the agreed destination within the agreed timeframe.
- Keep the package safe, undamaged, and unopened during transit.
- Communicate proactively with the sender about any delays, issues, or changes in circumstances that may affect the delivery.
- Complete the traveler verification process before accepting delivery requests (required).
- Not accept packages containing prohibited items as described in Section 7.
7. Prohibited Items
Sending or carrying prohibited items may result in immediate account suspension and referral to law enforcement.
The following items are strictly prohibited on Travelpayy:
- Illegal drugs, narcotics, or controlled substances.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapons of any kind.
- Hazardous, flammable, corrosive, or toxic chemicals or materials.
- Human or animal remains, organs, or biological specimens.
- Counterfeit goods, pirated materials, or items that infringe intellectual property rights.
- Stolen property or items obtained through fraud.
- Perishable goods requiring refrigeration or special handling (unless expressly agreed in writing with the traveler).
- Live animals.
- Large sums of cash or undeclared currency.
- Any item that is illegal to possess, sell, or transport under Nigerian law or the laws of the destination location.
Both senders and travelers are jointly responsible for ensuring compliance. If you are unsure whether an item is prohibited, do not send it. Contact our support team at support@travelpayy.com.
8. Payments & Escrow
Travelpayy operates a secure escrow wallet system to protect both senders and travelers:
- Senders must fund their Travelpayy wallet before a delivery is confirmed. The agreed delivery fee is locked in escrow upon confirmation.
- Funds held in escrow are not accessible by the traveler until the sender confirms successful delivery.
- If a sender fails to confirm delivery within a reasonable period after the agreed delivery date, the platform may release funds to the traveler at its discretion, provided there is no active dispute.
- All deposits are processed through Paystack. Travelpayy does not store card details.
- Travelpayy is not responsible for failed transactions resulting from errors by your bank or payment provider.
9. Withdrawals
- Travelers may request to withdraw earnings to their bank account once a delivery is confirmed complete by the sender.
- Withdrawals are disabled if you have any active, pending, or unconfirmed deliveries. All deliveries must be resolved before withdrawal access is enabled.
- Travelpayy reserves the right to place a temporary hold on withdrawals during an ongoing dispute or investigation.
- Processing times depend on banking partners and are typically completed within 1–3 business days.
10. Traveler Verification
To accept delivery requests, travelers must complete the Travelpayy verification process, which includes submitting:
- A valid government-issued ID (National ID, Driver's Licence, International Passport, or Voter Card).
- A selfie photo holding the same ID document.
Verification is reviewed by Travelpayy administrators. Approved travelers receive a Verified Traveler badge on their profile. Travelpayy reserves the right to reject verification submissions that appear fraudulent, incomplete, or inconsistent.
Submitting false, forged, or someone else's identity documents is a serious violation that will result in permanent account suspension and may be reported to law enforcement.
11. Disputes & Complaints
In the event of a dispute between a sender and a traveler:
- Both parties should first attempt to resolve the matter directly through in-app messaging.
- If unresolved, either party may raise a formal dispute with Travelpayy support at support@travelpayy.com.
- Travelpayy will review available evidence (messages, transaction records, delivery status) and may mediate between the parties.
- Travelpayy is not an arbitrator or a court. Our mediation is non-binding.
- For cases involving suspected fraud or criminal activity, Travelpayy will cooperate fully with Nigerian law enforcement, including providing account and transaction records as legally required.
12. Limitation of Liability
Travelpayy does not guarantee the safe delivery of any package.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Travelpayy is a technology platform and connection service only. We are not liable for any loss, theft, damage, delay, or non-delivery of any package facilitated through the Platform.
- Travelpayy does not currently provide insurance or financial protection for packages. You use the Platform at your own risk.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
- Our total liability to you in any circumstance is limited to the amount of fees paid by you to Travelpayy in the 30 days preceding the claim.
Users are strongly advised to only transact with verified travelers, to photograph packages before and after handover, and to use in-app communication for all delivery-related discussions.
13. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse any other user.
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent delivery requests or travel listings.
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform's escrow system by arranging payment outside Travelpayy.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the Platform without authorisation.
- Upload viruses or any code designed to disrupt or harm the Platform or its users.
- Create fake reviews, ratings, or feedback.
- Share another user's personal information without their consent.
14. Suspension & Termination
Travelpayy reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any account, with or without notice, in the event of:
- Violation of these Terms or our Privacy Policy.
- Submission of fraudulent or false information during registration or verification.
- Suspected or confirmed involvement in illegal activity.
- Receiving repeated negative reviews or complaints from other users.
- Non-delivery or abandonment of accepted delivery requests.
- Any conduct that we reasonably believe harms the safety, integrity, or reputation of the Platform.
Upon termination, any escrowed funds will be handled on a case-by-case basis, with senders receiving refunds where appropriate and no active dispute exists.
You may voluntarily close your account at any time by contacting us at support@travelpayy.com.
15. Intellectual Property
All content on the Travelpayy Platform — including the name "Travelpayy", the logo, design, code, graphics, and text — is the exclusive property of Travelpayy and its licensors.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our express written permission.
User-generated content (profile photos, package descriptions, messages) remains your property. By posting it on the Platform, you grant Travelpayy a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content for the purposes of operating the service.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
- Notify registered users by email or in-app notification.
Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
